Rocky
Rocky
is a beautiful Siberian Husky. He was adopted from the pound when he was a
youngster, so we don't know his exact age, but estimate him to be around 7 years
old.
He is neutered, current on shots, on heartworm preventative, and
has no health conditions.
Rocky is very sweet, friendly, laid back, and great with
children (even when they poke and pull on him and try to ride him like a
horse!). He has no bad habits, but he is a typical husky. He WILL run out of a
gate or door that's left open and he WILL attack any cat he finds. His owner is
92 and has accidentally let Rocky escape many times, resulting in several
unfortunate incidents with cats in the neighborhood. He hates to let Rocky go,
but any further incidents could result in him being confiscated by animal
control and we cannot bear the thought of him being in a cage at the pound.
Family members cannot take him in because we all have small dogs and don't know
if we could trust him with them. He has been aggressive towards other dogs that
entered his house and yard, but he's fine with them when they're on the other
side of the chain link fence.
He would do best in a home where he's the only dog and there are
no small animals he can get to. He also needs to be allowed inside the house.
Huskies can't tolerate the summer heat, so he likes to go inside to take a cool
nap. The ideal yard would have nice shade areas where he can cool off. He is
house-trained and never causes any problems in the house. He mostly just
lounges around. He does get frisky sometimes, especially when it's cold
outside, and he loves it when the kids run around the yard with him.
We all love Rocky and are hoping to find someone who will love him as much as we
do. |

Cassie
Cassie
was born approx July 08. We don't know where her story begins, but we know where
it is going and has a happy ending.
Cassie was rescued by a volunteer who saw her hobbling on the side of the road.
After examining the pup, she had either been hit by a car or attacked by another
dog, because her left inner leg had a big gash in it. After an overnight visit
with the vet, she got stitched up, spayed and up to date on her shots including
her rabies. It took a while for the gash to heal and vet said she will probably
always have a scar.
Cassie is a very happy, playful pup. She loves going outside for
runs, especially when she has the whole yard to herself. The volunteer who is
fostering her has other dogs, but has not let Cassie lose with them.
New
dog doesn't mix with territorial dogs. So Cassie usually gets the whole yard to
herself while the other dogs just watch. She doesn't seem to have a mean bone in
her body and would probably get along with other dogs. She does gets along with
one adult cat that usually lays beside her. They tolerate each other. But she
has never hurt the cat...and would probably play with it, if the cat would play.
I'm sure older kids would be fine with Cassie. Her being a pup, she does like to
play rough and smaller children could get scratched or knocked down.
Besides the company of the cat, Cassie is usually alone during
most of the day and isn't house trained yet to hold it for very long. But she
does know that when alone and she has to go, paper is down for emergency when
she cant wait.
If you think Cassie would make a great addition to your family,
contact caawsmail@yahoo.com for
more information or a visit.
