Questions about a Cat?

If interested in a particular animal, please email caawsmail@yahoo.com with your questions. Due to the large volume of calls that CAAWS receives on a daily basis and limited volunteer hours available, it is nearly impossible to return all calls. Email is the easiest and quickest way to reach us.

Cher (Ed. note: Personality Plus! This is one lap cat. She just wants to be loved. You have to come to the shelter to see her in her true environment.)

Dear CAAWS,

Thank you for taking such good care of me when I was a kitten.

I was frightened and lonely, but you loved me, took me to the vet, and saw that I was adopted.

I thought I was going to be in the same home for the rest of my life, but now I am here, sitting on your doorstep again.  My adopted humans thought it was too much of a bother to take me out of state when they moved.

I appreciate you taking care of me a second time, but could you please make sure that my next adoption is for LIFE?

I was born in 2007, so I’m not a cute kitten anymore, but I sure am sweet and cuddly.

I promise I will try to behave myself at Petsmart on Saturday, but being in a cage really does frighten me.  Please do your best to find me a good home.

Love, Cher

Noire

My name is "Noire", which means "Black" in French.
Some people compare me to the perfect, little black dress because I seem to be appropriate for every occasion.

If I had named myself, though, I might have chosen an action hero name, maybe  "Xena, Warrior Princess".

I am beautiful, sophisticated, and mysterious-looking, as a princess should be,  but I am also super-tough and strong!

I am so strong that I am the only cat at CAAWS that is willing to pounce on Jonas (who is a giant and thinks he is a dog).   I am also very sweet, loving and affectionate.

I would be a good cat for a  rough and tumble household full of boys or a sleek, sophisticated apartment in the city.  In other words, I am perfect, so what are you waiting for?
Come to PetSmart on Saturday and adopt me!

Mellow

Mellow is a playful, but very alert kitty.  She hears everything and gets startled easily.  But give her a laser beam to chase, and she   doesn't even know you are in the room with  her.

Mellow wasn't held a lot as a kitty.  Since she has been with me, I have tried to sit and  hold  her as much as I can....but it is usually for a very short time, before she is ready to hit the floor again.  She doesn't like to be  caged so her days being showed at Petsmart are few and far in between.  She lets her nasty side come out when caged...but outside a cage, and at  home, she is fine.   Mellow's perfect home is going to be someone who, with time, TLC and finding love in their heart for  her, I feel she will come along great once she gets into a home of her own, away from her siblings who usually hog all the attention.

Bentley

Many of our cats may be seen at PetSmart on Airline Highway (corner Florida) every Saturday, 11-4:00 PM.

Don't forget Jane, the Tree Kitty is still available.

See her pictures and story Here

Benny (Benny has become a real lap cat. Loves to climb on your lap and get attention. Declawed and a jewel. Come see him at the shelter).

My name is Benny and I really am a great guy.

Most people take one look at me and say the same thing "that's one big cat!" but in truth, I'm a really shy guy just looking for a home.

I am a four-paw declawed, sterilized, 5 year old (DOB 2004) tabby cat who is up-to-date on my vaccinations and negative for bad stuff like FIV and Feline leukemia.

I don't think I would do well in a home with young children as I am very skittish. Once I become comfortable with my surroundings, I will start coming out of my shell and you can see my playful side - the one who can never resist an invigorating battle with an evil shoestring or laser!

So, please, take a second look and try not to see just a "big" cat, see a shy guy named Big Ben who would love a home of his own.

Straight

Don’t laugh at my name; it was given to me because of the straight white line on my nose.

I am an energetic teenager who loves to play. I love my big foster brother, we play and wrestle together, and when we get tired we snuggle up and sleep.

I have a 15 year old foster sister who I get along with and don’t bother, much. I also have 6 dogs as friends, they are all so much bigger than I, but that does not bother me at all, and if the mood is right I will even rub up on them.

I meet my foster father at the door when he comes home, and follow him and talk to him while he changes out of his work clothes. I don’t mind being carried and will sit on his lap while watching movies. I have some experience with kids, and think I would like them.

If you love well rounded older kittens that like cats and dogs, and want to interact with you, then send me an email.
