Questions about a Cat?
If interested in a particular animal, please email
caawsmail@yahoo.com with your questions. Due to the large volume of calls that CAAWS receives on a daily basis and limited volunteer hours available, it is nearly impossible to return all calls. Email is the easiest and quickest way to reach us.

Josie
My
name is Josie and I am a butterfly! When I came to CAAWS, I was
an ugly caterpillar. With a little love, proper food and
veterinary care, I was transformed into a beautiful creature.
My story is quite dramatic, so prepare yourself. CAAWS received
a desperate email about a handicapped lady who was evicted from
her trailer and stranded on a street corner with all of her cats
in carriers. She claimed we were a rare Angora breed. As a kind
Samaritan took the lady in, some CAAWS volunteers stepped up.
We were all frightened, filthy and hadn't had proper food in
quite some time. None of us were sterilized and we were being
bred.
I
am now healthy, spayed, vaccinated and waiting for my new
forever home. CAAWS estimates that I was born in 2007. I had a
very poor diet in the past and as a result I had most of my
teeth removed. I now need to eat a mixture of wet and dry food
to get all my nutrients. My brothers have been adopted (Big
Jake, Tiger, Parker, Murray, and Ivan). Now just Raspy and I
are left. Of all the cats that were rescued in that one event,
no one ever thought that we would be the last to find our homes!
Because of what I have been through, I am a
little shy at first, but I will gradually warm up to new people
and a new home. Once I am settled, I am sweet, affectionate,
and playful. I would do well in a home with another cat. If you
don't have any other pets, please consider adopting Raspy along
with me. We make a good team, as she is the mischievous
entertainer and I am the sweet lap cat.
Please email the CAAWS volunteers and make an appointment to
meet me since I don't come to PetSmart often.

Emma (If someone doesn't come to the shelter and see Emma
and her personality they will be missing out on a great cat! She is one
smart kitty!)
Are
you a little stressed out? Need a massage? I am the best “kneader” in
the business! Sit down, put your feet up and let me do the rest.
I’m Emma and besides being quite beautiful, I am also a
very attentive companion. I love to sit in laps and massage my
person. The side effects of this activity include a warm lap and a
deep sense of relaxation. The only payment I ask for this service is
love, food, and a yearly visit to the vet.
I
somehow lost my first owner and ended up at CAAWS. I don’t remember
my birthday, but I was told I was a young, healthy cat around 2 years
old. I am fully vaccinated, spayed and ready to be your new
therapist.
Come see me at Petsmart on Saturday or email CAAWS for
more information. |

Raspy
_small.JPG)
My
name is Raspy and once you hear me meow, you will know why they
named me Raspy!
I am an active gal with one blue eye and one
green eye and I love to play and romp. Toy, toy, who’s got
the toy!
I don’t like to sit in laps or to be cuddled,
but I am a very alert and interactive companion. My sister,
Josie, is the exact opposite but we still get along great. I
don’t like being alone, so if you don’t have any other cats,
please consider adopting both Josie and me.
We are an awesome
team…you get a perfect lap cat and the entertainer, which is ME!
I
was in pretty bad shape when I was rescued, but I am better now
and here is some great news, I am vaccinated, sterilized, and
FIV/Feline Leukemia negative! CAAWS estimates that I was born
in 2007. I had a very poor diet in the past and as a result I
had most of my teeth removed. I now need to eat a mixture of
wet and dry food to get all my nutrients.
Please email the CAAWS volunteers and make an appointment to
meet me since I don't come to PetSmart often. |

Daisy
My
name is Daisy. When I was rescued, I was emaciated, wounded, and
pregnant with four kittens. Once my foster mom got me to the hospital,
the doctors said that I had lost my sight in one of my eyes.
But the good news is,
I am now healthy, vaccinated, negative for feline leukemia and FIV.
After giving birth to my four kittens, I was nice enough to be a
surrogate mom to a litter of kittens that had no mom to nurse from.
Whew! Once all the kids were settled in their forever homes, I was
sterilized and now I am looking for MY forever home.
I live in a foster
home with other cats and I'm ok as long as no one sneaks up on my blind
side. I must admit that I have gained a few pounds since I was rescued,
so we may have to face that. Come meet me on Saturdays at Airline
PetSmart and let's see if we can face that New Year's weight loss
resolution together! |

Boo
Boo
– Female, DMH, gray and white. approx on year. Active, playful, loving,
a little shy, lap cat. Good with other cats.
Boo is one lucky kitty! She was found scrambling
across Perkins road by a CAAWS volunteer. Both of her back legs were
broken ( one bone shattered in three pieces!) but she has been taken
care of and recovering nicely._small.JPG)
She
is shy but warms up quickly. She loves playing with the laser pointer
and gets along great with other cats.
She is really adorable and needs
someone who can give lots of love and attention. She is spayed, litter
trained, Fiv//FeLV negative .
