DonationsCAAWS is a recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization and all donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. We have no paid staff so all money donated to CAAWS goes directly to animal care, medical expenses, shelter expenses, pet food, or pet supplies. If you want your donation to go toward a certain cause, you may earmark it for that purpose, such as heartworm treatment, spay/neuter, pet toys, humane education, building maintenance, etc. Now you don't even have to lick a stamp to provide help for the animals. You can make a secure, online donation using your credit card. Just choose the level of help you can provide by clicking on the appropriate donation button below. If you would like to choose your own level of donation, simply click on the "Other Donation" button. If you choose monthly donation, your credit card will be automatically debited monthly by the amount you specify. You may cancel this option at anytime. We Are In Need of a Generator Other Ways to Donate: There are other ways in which you can donate as well, such as supplies. - pet carriers We feed exclusively Science Diet to our animals. If you wish to donate a different brand, we will accept the food and give it to another shelter or a pet owner in need. For health reasons we can accept only unopened bags of food. We will accept and use all canned cat food. Christmas and Birthday Cards You can make a donation of $25.00 or more to CAAWS at Christmas and receive a beautiful Christmas card with pictures of CAAWS cats and dogs waiting for adoption to send to your friends and family members. If you wish to acknowledge birthdays or other special occasions with a donation during the year, CAAWS has a card available with faces of cats and dogs awaiting their forever homes. CAAWS-Recycle Program for CrittersRecycle your inkjet and laser cartridges and cell phones to help raise money for The Capital Area Animal Welfare Society. Simply place your empty inkjet and laser cartridges or cell phone in a Ziploc bag and bring them to the CAAWS building at 6357 Quinn Dr. any Saturday between 11 a.m. & 3 p.m. For each recyclable ink jet and laser cartridge you bring us, CAAWS will receive up to $4.00 for each ink jet and $1.00 - $12.00 for each laser. Cell phones bring us revenue of $0.50 to $40.00 per phone. Phones should be undamaged and able to power up. Cracked LCD screens or broken bodies will not be accepted. Please include the phone's original battery and exclude any accessories such as power cables or earpieces. We can accept undamaged inkjet and laser/toner cartridges for most printers, copiers and fax machines. They must be "virgin" laser/toner cartridges (those that have not been previously refilled), and both "virgin" and "non-virgin" inkjet cartridges. All cartridges must be major brand name cartridges such as HP or Canon. Off brand cartridges from Office Depot or Quill will not be accepted. Currently we can accept "slim-bodied Epson cartridges".
